Innovations in speed, capacity and interfaces have dramatically reduced HDD cost per gigabyte and enable HDDs to handle large amounts of data very quickly. In order to increase the throughput performance and reliability of HDD-based systems, multiple HDDs can be used in what is known as a RAID array.
Toshiba's DT01ABA-V series of 5,940 rpm 3.5-inch HDD deliver up to 3 TB of storage capacity. The DT01ABA-V series is suitable for video editing, set-top-box ( STB ), digital video recorders ( DVR ) and network video recorders ( NVR ) applications where large capacity, low power and low acoustics are critical.
