5 tips on how to use and replace them
- The lifespan of these car parts isn’t limited, therefore, they have to be replaced when malfunctions occur. As a rule, these components are replaced in pairs.
- To dismantle the faulty parts and install new ones, it is better to visit a vehicle repair shop. Depending on the design of the vehicle, the process can be rather laborious.
- Before you start dismantling the faulty part, you have to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
- Please remember that before you remove the component, it might be necessary to disconnect electrical devices including the battery and head unit. When the work is done, it is important to reconnect them correctly.
- If any failures occur in transmission shifter cables, it is recommended to examine them and, if necessary, replace the attachments and protective sheath. If the latter is damaged, it allows moisture to get to the components, and they might freeze up in winter. In that case, cover the parts with a special lubricant and install a new sheath.
