詩作選集乃按時序排列，始自八十年代台北市西門町速寫，到九十年代市區街景交通、臺大校園外圍，再到二十一世紀的異國巴黎市，外在大環境與個人際遇一直在相互滲透，或者說，私人的行跡心事皆有歷史背景映照，間中賞花詠物，歲月更迭，草木有情。
詩集一共收集了二十一首詩作（還「加贈」附錄兩首），所以有副題「不管三七二十一詩集」——縱使是人生過程的習作，鄭重為之——出版就是了。
