This toast is a keeper

Mmm Melba toast original! This is toast as it should be: light, crispy and low-fat as well. Our Frisian family-run company has been proudly baking toast for four generations. Thats pretty special, if you think about it. And when you take a bite, you will know why our toast is definitely a keeper.

Masterbakers

So where does Melba toast come from? Our baking masters start by carefully baking bread in our bakery. These loaves of bread are cut into small slices, just the right size to cover them with a slice of cheese and a sprinkling of cress. After this, they are baked until they are crispy and golden yellow in color. You wont find anything better, we promise.

Nellie Melba

Nellie Melba (May 19, 1861 - February 23, 1931) was an Australian soprano. In 1886 Nellie and her family left Australia to become known as opera singer in Europe. It worked! She became a musician of world renown. Her name is still associated with two dishes, the dessert pche Melba and our delicious Melba toast. Both are conceived by the French chef cook Auguste Escoffier. The dessert when he saw Nellie perform and the Melba toast when he fell in love with her.
