• What Maalox Plus Tablets are and what they are used for?

  Maalox Plus Simethicone Tablets are lemon-flavoured antacid/ antiflatulent for the relief of acid indigestion, heartburn or sour stomach, accompanied by gas. It is used to treat the symptoms of too much tomach acid such as stomach upset, heartburn, and acid ndigetsion. It is also used to relieve symptoms of extra gas such as belching, bloating, and feelings of pressure/discomfort in the stomach/gut. Simethicone helps break up gas bubbles in the gut. Aluminum and magnesium antacids work quickly to lower the acid in the stomach. This medication works only on existing acid in the stomach. It does not prevent acid production.

  Maalox Plus Tablets contain three different medicines:

• The first two medicines are called dried aluminium hydroxide gel and magnesium hydroxide. They belong to a group of medicines called antacids.
• The other medicine is called simeticone. It belongs to a group of medicines called anti-foaming agents.

• Maalox Plus Tablets work by lowering the amount of acid in your stomach. The anti-foaming agent in Maalox Plus Tablets helps to remove gas from your stomach.

  Directions

  2-4 tablets well chewed, 4 times a day, taken 20 minutes to one hour after meals and at bed time, or as directed by a physician.

  Warnings

  Do not take more than 16 tablets in a 24-hour period or use the maximum dosage for more than 2 weeks or use if you have kidney disease except under the advice and supervision of a physician. Please ocnsult physician before use.

• The relief of indigestion (dyspepsia)
• Heartburn
• Wind (flatulence)
