Galangal is an erect annual plant with aromatic, ginger-like rhizomes. The medical applications of galangal are in many ways the same as its close relative ginger. Suggested Use

To infuse a soup, galangal is usually sliced unpeeled. For curry pastes, it's peeled and chopped, then ground with the other paste ingredients. Galangal powder is used to treat anorexia, indigestion (dyspepsia), colic and stomach ache.
