一九八二年生，新竹縣人。國立清華大學中文所碩士，目前就讀國立成功大學台文所博士班。
作品散見《中華日報》副刊、《人間福報》副刊、《中國時報》人間副刊、《自由時報》副刊、《四方報》等，曾獲桐花文學獎、五四徵文獎、月涵文學獎、南風文學獎。著有散文集《我家是聯合國》、《我的肚腹裡有一片海洋》。

台灣在一九五〇年代曾經是紡織王國，紡織廠經歷興衰、外移、轉型等，然而目前也尚未出現以紡織為主題的小說，這部小說寫出祖父從台灣到越南的移動，也考察了台灣和越南紡織業交織的一段歷史切片。
主角卉玲正值失業與就業間的徬徨時期，病重的阿公在她某日出門求職後在家中斷氣，錯過見阿公最後一面的她開始陷入多重的迷惘，之後她和家人陪伴阿婆再遊越南，當年阿婆以眷屬身分去探望阿公的場景路線和回憶一一重現，故事就在現在進行式的阿玲觀點、年輕阿公的異鄉心情，以及遠道去探望丈夫的年輕阿婆的越南行經歷，三大視角間交錯進行。
作者張郅忻從小在客家庄長大，阿公阿婆說客語，小嬸說印尼語，大嬸嬸說越南語，妹妹有阿美族血統，生活週遭也有不少越南好姐妹，她過去的作品即十分關注不同出身背景的台灣新移民族群，描繪出多元族群女性和與她們相互對照的生命故事，也打破多數台灣人對來自東南亞的新移民的刻板印象。
這次，源於對曾於上世紀六、七〇年代的越戰時期被派遣到越南紡織廠工作的祖父其人生歷程及家族命運的好奇，張郅忻動念尋根，並提筆創作小說。除了家族史及紡織業歷史外，作者也希望從整理歷史脈絡中，看見新移民的移動，以及在當代台灣家庭中的身影和生命力。《織》以虛擬本質的小說形式為主體，搭配口述歷史與實際走訪台灣及越南胡志明市紡織廠的方式蒐集資料，圍繞紡織、家族、記憶三個子題展開書寫。
如同張郅忻過去的散文風格，不見華麗的詞藻或比喻，卻處處真情流露。小說的敘事也自然細膩卻毫不拖泥帶水，細瑣的家族故事以巧思重新架構，虛實交錯地織出了一張緻密的網，不論是曾在越南打拚時陪伴阿公的紅粉知己，還是在台灣默默守候並養大五個孩子們的阿婆，時代的變遷走來，有生離，也有死別，家族間的羈絆，人生的無奈與不捨，情真意切地娓娓道來，許多段落皆令人讀來十分動容。
