男，1964年生。中國藝術研究院研究人員，文史學者，傳記作家，書評家。農工民主黨北京市文化工作委員會委員。已經出版著作有《歷史背後：政學兩界的人和事》、《誰謀殺了宋教仁》、《民國底色：政學兩界人和事》、《北大教授：政學兩界人和事》、《民國背影：政學兩界人和事》、《曹禺：戲裡戲外》、《影劇之王田漢：愛國唯美的浪漫人生》、《中國話劇史》等十多部。寫作之餘還參與過《小關一家人》、《山河作證》、《農電之光》等數十部長短電視片的拍攝與編導。
