The essential oil of tea tree is extracted through steam distillation of twigs and leaves of tea tree, which has the botanical name Melaleuca alternifolia.

= Tea Tree Essential Oil Uses=
• Antiseptic for minor cuts and scrapes: Clean the cut thoroughly, mix 1 drop tea tree oil with 1 tsp coconut oil, apply a small amount of the mixture to the injury and cover with a bandage, repeat this process once or twice daily until a scab has formed
• Fight Acne: mixing one-part tea tree oil with nine parts water and applying the mixture to affected areas with a cotton swab once or twice a day, as needed.
• Cleaner: 20 drops of tea tree oil, 3/4 cup of water and a 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle. Shake well until thoroughly mixed. Spray directly onto surfaces and wipe clean with a dry cloth.
• Relieve inflamed skin: 10 drops tea tree oil + 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil + 1 tbsp coconut oil. Mix well, and store in a sealed container. Apply to the affected area up to twice a day.
