林徽因（1904～1955）
二十世紀初華人世界建築家、詩人、作家。
本名林徽音，祖籍福建省福州，生於浙江杭州。出身良好，祖父是清朝進士，父親林長民考中過秀才，曾赴日讀大學取得學位，後在政府機關任職；林覺民（黃花崗七十二烈士之一）是其堂弟。
雖是南方人，但由於父親活躍於政壇，因此十歲即前往北京，十六歲更隨父旅居過倫敦。與梁思成（梁啟超之子）在十八歲相戀，而後兩人一起投身建築。二十歲，與梁思成同赴美國賓夕法尼亞大學，梁思成進入建築系，林徽因則讀美術系（賓大建築系當時不招收女生），然而她選修了建築系的所有課程，並在二十三歲從大學畢業。畢業後，也曾至耶魯大學戲劇學院學習舞臺美術設計。
林徽因曾與夫婿梁思成考察歐洲與古中國多處建築，返國後，一方面從事建築工作，另一方面也因著對文學藝術的雅好，活躍於北京文壇，寫詩也寫文，被視為「京派」「新月派」文人，還創辦了文學月刊《學文》。與中西方文人多所往來，如費正清、費慰梅夫婦，胡適、冰心、徐志摩、沈從文、凌叔華、金岳霖，以及蕭乾等人。
美麗與才華，知性與感性，率爾與醇厚，為她交織出了人生多面向的光華。其子梁從誡曾為母親編纂了專書，可從詩作、散文、小說、戲劇、翻譯、書信，認識林徽因這位傳奇女子。
