樊潔兮
祖籍河北，出生成長於台灣。三歲可以跟著民族舞蹈的音樂翩翩起舞。十八歲從文化舞蹈系畢業後，加入了東京「谷桃子芭蕾舞團」，是此舞團中唯一的台灣人。當時日本正好有一波中國絲路熱，紀錄片中的敦煌壁畫和塑像正是樊潔兮理想中的舞蹈形象，讓她有了追尋敦煌的開始。
自日返回台後，與國際知名攝影師柯錫杰的相識改變了她的人生軌跡。一九八五年，樊潔兮與柯錫杰結婚，並以蜜月旅行之名造訪敦煌與絲路。返回紐約後，樊潔兮立即以敦煌莫高窟等洞窟的壁畫為素材，匯聚成樊潔兮獨具韻味的「敦煌舞姿」。
她除了是兩岸研究敦煌的典範。施振榮也曾稱她為：「中華舞蹈的創新者，這應該就是一種新台灣文化。」
