瑪雅．安吉洛（Maya Angelou）
美國詩人、作家、教師、舞蹈家和導演。生於1928年4月4日，在南方小鎮阿肯色州的斯坦普斯度過童年，後移居舊金山。瑪雅經歷傳奇，曾從事多種職業，為反抗種族歧視，她成為舊金山的首位黑人電車售票員，並投身馬丁．路德．金領導的民權事業。1993年，應邀在克林頓的總統就職典禮上朗誦詩歌《清晨的脈搏》。現為維克森林大學雷諾茲講席教授。1969年出版的《我知道籠中鳥為何歌唱》是瑪雅最重要的作品。瑪雅獲得包括三次格萊美獎、美國國家藝術勛章（2000）、林肯勛章（2008）、總統自由勛章（2011）在內的諸多榮譽。著有數部詩集，其中《在我死前給我一口冷水吧》（1973）獲普利策獎提名。2004年，蘭登書屋出版現代文庫版《瑪雅．安吉洛自傳合集》。
