莉迪亞．戴維斯（Lydia Davis）
1947年出生於美國麻省北安普敦，美國當代最著名的短篇小說家之一，同時致力於譯介法國經典文學，如福樓拜、普魯斯特的作品。著有七本短篇小說集及一部長篇。2013年榮獲布克國際獎。曾獲古根海姆獎、蘭南文學獎、麥克阿瑟天才獎。2013年，美國藝術與文學學院為其頒發功勛獎章。

2009年出版的《莉迪亞．戴維斯小說集》（The Collected Stories of Lydia Davis）是莉迪亞．戴維斯迄今為止重要的作品合集，收錄了從1986年到2007年出版的四本重要小說集，集中體現了她的寫作特色。本書包含該小說集的前兩部分，即《拆開來算》（Break It Down, 1986）與《幾乎沒有記憶》（Almost No Memory, 1997)。
