趙慧琳
台中人，1964年生。台大哲學系學士；美國愛荷華大學教育、藝術創作碩士；台大城鄉所博士候選人。始自1994年的十年期間，任職聯合報社攝影、文字記者，陸續以〈九二一災後文化家園重建〉、〈新興潮流——國民美術〉和〈另類西施——檳榔西施的文化觀察〉（六人同得），獲吳舜文新聞獎文化專題報導獎項。2007—2012年，由國藝會贊助，接連完成「大肚城歸來的祖靈」、「番仔寮追想曲」寫作計畫。

首部中台灣平埔原住民大河史詩，刻畫多族群在帝國更迭下的生存競合。
「平埔」正名運動熾烈關頭，回溯兩百年前西海岸拍瀑拉遁走生番界外，內山繼續做「番」，攸關存亡的島上民族大遷徙。
「賽德克．巴萊」式的族群悲劇早在四百年前的拍瀑拉（PAPORA）族人身上發生。《大肚城，歸來》透過民族誌的田野踏查，讓兩百年前中台灣多族群的庶民階級，得以在當代顯影。從貫穿全書的兩位拍瀑拉女子一生際遇，一舉窺見平埔移墾者當中的洪安雅族、巴宰族、噶哈巫族；內山原住民的埔社人、邵族、布農族、泰雅族和賽德克族；以及泉州、漳州和客家漢移民等，從海岸到內山相互交疊歷史地理，所遺留不可抹除的集體腳印。
