英國萊斯特大學碩士 、湖南中醫藥大學博士。
因不願考丙組，從北一女輟學，以七年打工存錢，期間經歷各種基層工作，餐飲業，送報，開計程車等，並樂讀中外經典。在美國讀書時邊打工邊走遍48州，在英國讀書時走遍歐洲。回台灣後在高科技業工作，並於網路創業。
2003年開始撰文並在電視評論時政。2004年以《 戰慄的未來》獲亞洲週刊全球十大中文好書。
