作者簡介：
奧田祥子（Okuda Shoko）
現職記者。1966年生於京都市，1994年畢業於美國紐約大學文理研究所，主修媒體論與社會心理學，畢業後進入報社工作，長期關心男女之間不同的生活方式，以及醫療、社會福利、家庭關係、勞動問題等議題，並奔走於日本全國，走訪一般民眾取材。後因組織調整，脫離報社成為獨立記者，除了於各地方鄉鎮舉辦的座談會演講以外，也發表了「Media Influence Over the Transformation of Stigma Toward Depression in Japan」（刊載於美國學術雜誌《Sociology Study》）等論文。
曾著有《男人真命苦》（新潮新書出版），以及合譯作《新聞學用語事典》（國書刊行會發行）。
目前單身，與母親相依為命，並肩負母親的日常照護工作。
