一九七○年生。國立中央大學中文系畢業。〈蝴蝶的記號〉由香港導演麥婉欣改編拍攝成電影《蝴蝶》，二○○四年以長篇小說《橋上的孩子》獲《中國時報》開卷十大好書獎，二○○九年以長篇小說《附魔者》入圍台灣文學獎長篇小說金典獎，隔年同時入圍台北國際書展大獎小說類年度之書與第三十四屆金鼎獎，二○一三年以長篇小說《迷宮中的戀人》入圍台北國際書展大獎小說類年度之書。部分作品獲得財團法人國家文化藝術基金會寫作計畫補助，並翻譯成英文與日文於海外發表。長篇小說《橋上的孩子》於二○一一年由日本現代企劃社發行日文版。著有《我們都是千瘡百孔的戀人》、《摩天大樓》、《戀愛課》、《台妹時光》、《人妻日記》、《迷宮中的戀人》、《附魔者》、《她睡著時他最愛她》、《無人知曉的我》、《天使熱愛的生活》、《只愛陌生人》、《陳春天》、《蝴蝶》、《橋上的孩子》、《愛上爵士樂女孩》、《惡魔的女兒》、《愛情酒店》、《鬼手》等。
