作者簡介：
江文瑜
台灣大學外文系畢業，美國德州大學奧斯汀分校碩士，美國德拉瓦大學語言學博士。從美國回台灣之後至2008年，任教於台灣大學語言學研究所暨外文系。曾任台灣大學語言學研究所所長，現為台灣大學語言學研究所教授。曾赴美國哈佛大學語言學系（2003）與日本京都大學言語科學講座（2013）擔任訪問學者。學術論文刊於數種知名國際英文期刊。
學術之外，熱愛文學創作，作品包括詩集《男人的乳頭》、《阿媽的料理》、《合掌───翁倩玉版畫與江文瑜詩歌共舞》（與翁倩玉合著）、傳記文學《山地門之女───台灣第一位女畫家陳進和她的女弟子》。除了以詩的形式發表作品外，近年來開始書寫短篇小說，發表於《短篇小說》雜誌。
過去擔任台北市女性權益促進會理事長期間，致力推動女性生命史的書寫，編有《阿媽的故事》、《消失中的台灣阿媽》、《阿母的故事》等女性生命史三部曲。
獲獎包括台灣大學學術研究成果獎勵之「傑出期刊論文獎勵」與「優良期刊論文獎勵」數次、陳秀喜詩獎、吳濁流文學獎之詩獎與台灣第十八屆十大傑出女青年。

本詩集是江文瑜繼與翁倩玉合著的《合掌》（詩畫合集）之後的又一創新力作，以「佛陀在貓瞳裡種下玫瑰」為概念出發，串連三個主題「佛陀」、「貓」、與「玫瑰」，發展台灣詩壇少見的鉅型組詩，透過貓的四種不同階段的生命：〈頑皮貓社團〉、〈貓的青春派對〉、〈中年貓的習題〉、〈逆時針貓科物語〉，演譯並隱喻人生中的各種生活體驗、生命課題、心靈與宗教的對話等重要的主題。
四個組詩可統合成一個完整的生命故事，透過貓的眼睛，望出的世界有如萬花筒般的折射，千變萬化、奼紫嫣紅。
〈頑皮貓社團〉組詩
試圖多面向呈現童年的修行貓愛玩、純真、戲耍的本性，透過po臉書與其他的頑皮貓、貓師父、貓領隊、佛陀的奇趣互動。
〈貓的青春派對〉組詩
透過愛情的各種風貌，刻畫青年貓在愛情與性中的激越與奔放，也有面對愛時屬於貓特有的歌詠。
〈中年貓的習題〉組詩
進入幽谷，從青年貓的激情轉為中年貓的深沉，對生命中的迷惘、病與痛、淚水、愛、生理變化等難解的課題發問，思索精神與肉身的本質。
〈逆時針貓科物語〉組詩
峰迴路轉，重見各種沉澱後的燦光，各類貓的故事托出當下體會的幽默與菩提，因而迸出「逆時針」境界的重回心靈之境的青春泉源。
