Tieluohan or Tie Luo Han (simplified Chinese: 铁罗汉; traditional Chinese: 鐵羅漢; pinyin: tiěluóhàn; pronounced [tʰjè.lwǒ.xân]) is one of the Four Great Oolongs and a light Wuyi tea. Tieluohan is the cultivar responsible for one of the four best known Yán chá, "rock teas" grown on cliffs in the Wuyi Mountains in northern Fujian Province, China. Legend tells that this tea was created by a powerful warrior monk with golden-bronze skin, hence the name Tieluohan, which means "Iron Arhat" or "Iron Warrior Monk".
Shui Hsien Oolong is one of the most known oolongs. It is produced in many areas but the most famous one is the sort from Wuyi Mountain, northern Fujian Province, China.
It has dark and curly leaves. Compared with other oolongs, the leaves of Shui Hsien Oolong are much larger. The brewed tea is clear with orange-brown in color. It is most known for the accent of orchids, which may stay in a mouth for a long time aftertaste.
First grade Shui Hsien oolong tea is hand-processed and oxidized to about 40%-60%. As it is fired more than other oolongs, it is a relatively dark oolong with a full body.
There are many health benefits to drinking Shui Hsien oolong tea, including the help with weight loss, teeth strengthening, combating the aging of skin, etc.
