Dyeing is the process of adding colour to textile products like fibres, yarns, and fabricsThis product is easy to apply and use as long as its instructions are understood or followed accordingly..
Its advantage is to enable individual to practice and learn the difficult parts in dyeing as a beginner and this could result in a long term carrier choice in the dyeing industries.
The 50g Bottle of Disperse dye is enough to dye between 1-3 T-shirts, and this depends on how vibrant you want your project to turn.
Polyester is a generalised term for any fabric or textile, which is made using polyester yarns or fibres. It is a shortened name for a synthetic, man-made polymer, Polyester is very durable and is resistant to shrinking and stretching. It is also resistant to wrinkling and abrasions. The fibres used to create Polyester are very strong yet lightweight. It is a quick drying fabric, so a popular choice for outdoors clothing.
PROCEDURES FOR DYEING WITH DISPERSE DYES USING HIGH TEMPERATURE.
( PLEASE NOTE THAT CAREFULNESS AND CAUTION IS NEEDED WHEN HANDLING HOT WATER)
1.Get a bucket or a bowl and pour 1 litre of boiled water of about 100 - 130 degree centigrade into the bucket or bowl.
2.Press from the tube about 20g of disperse dye into the hot water and stir.
3.Pour the AUXILARIES (20g Dispersing Agent) solution given in a 50ml bottle, measure about 20g of the solution and pour it into the hot disperse dye solution (and stir).
4.Pour your Dye Fixing Agent
5.Pour your Levelling Agent to acquired the required alkaline level with PH test kit, which falls between 4 and 7 test scale. (If need be, add an extra Levelling Agent to acquire the ratio of between 4 and 7 test scale and stir again).
6.Then, pour about 10ml of Anti-foaming agent (stir) .
7.Deep your fabric material such as polyester/wool substrate into the hot solution then stir the substrate and wait for about 5 minutes. Pour the dispersed dye solution containing the substrate/polyester or wool into a deep pot and then switch on the stove or reheat the temperature back to 100-130 degree centigrade, while boiling for another 3-5 minutes, pour 10g of Accelerator into the substrate. (WARNING, BECAREFUL OF HANDLING HOT WATER, MAKE SURE TO USE A WOODEN SPATULA TO STIR in the solution.), switch off the stove and allow your project to cool for about 5-6 hours (soaking) so that the substrate would properly absorb the dispersed dye.
8. After soaked , stir before bringing out the fabric (DO NOT SQUEEZE THE FABRIC to avoid irregular lines on your polyester fabric, if your project is a T-shirt dyeing use hanger to hang the T-shirt and leave it to drip until dry.)
9.Once dried, pour a clean warm water of about 2 litres and pour the dye fixing agent into the water, and deep your fabric to rinse and stir. Then leave it for another 10-20 minutes to fix.
10.Finally, rinse again with plain normal water then dry.
