Q1. What size M.2 does this support?
The Digifast enclosure supports NVMe M.2 of sizes 2242, 2260, and 2280. These sizes refer to the width and height in mm, ie 22mm x 42mm.
Q2. Does this device require any tools?
All tools required to use the enclosure are included with the device (except for the drive itself).
Q3. Will this device work with any operating system?
The device works with Windows 7 or later and MacOS 10.10.5 (Yosemite) or later. Most Linux distributions will work as well.
Q4. If I remove my SSD from a working PC, will I be able to read the files using this device?
Yes, so long as the drive you are removing is NVMe (as opposed to SATA), this will work without issues.
Q5. How fast will my SSD run using this enclosure?
The enclosure uses USB 3.2 Gen 2 which has a maximum transfer rate of 10 Gbps. This translates to at most 1000 MB/sec read and write.
Q6. What chip does the enclosure use?
It uses the JMicron JMS583 controller.
Q7. How long is the USB cable included?
The cable is a type-C to type-A cable and measures 20.5 cm
