About Us

Crafugees is a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to help refugees in Malaysia. Our aim is to enable refugees to make a living with dignity. We work with UNHCR and partners to provide craft training to refugee communities, helping them learn a skill and produce items that becomes a source of income. Alongside it, we serve as a platform to sell their creations both online and at bazaars. Profits from the sales goes back to the communities. In doing so, it is our hope that refugee communities can be self-sustaining and better assimilate into society. We are presently involved in helping two refugee communities from Pakistan.

A refugee is someone who fled their origin country of nationality and is not able to return due to reasons such as fear of discrimination because of his or her race, religion, nationality, or political opinion. According to UNHCR, there are approximately 150,000 registered refugees in 2017, and the numbers are growing.
