9 Days Rebuilding Programme
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu.
Arrive Kathmandu, meet at the airport and transfer to hotel. Free time.
Day 2: Kathmandu city tour and briefing.
Visit historical and religious monuments, as well as some world heritage sights, with our experience guide. Before or after the tour, we’ll sit down for a briefing about upcoming activities, and also answer any of your queries.
Day 3: Drive to Dhading.
We’ll drive for approximately 7 hours to reach our destination village, where we’ll set up camp for an overnight stay.
Day 4- 7: Activities in the village.
Day 4-6: 1st day will start with orientation about the village, including their cultural background, population, income source etc, and visit local families where you’ll communicate (with the help of an interpreter) directly with locals so as to gain an understanding of what life has been like since the earthquake. After orientation and family visit our activities include carrying building materials, removing rubble, making simple constructions etc; this doesn’t require any specific experience in such fields. Building work will be supervised by qualified locals, so it’s not necessary for you to know anything beforehand; but if you do actually have any experience then you’ll definitely be able to share your ideas.
Day 7: Visit to local school along with activities like teaching English, giving personal hygiene education, playing games etc.
