This book is truly a breath of fresh air! It clears the air on what mental health and mental illness is.

Ripples is a book that will add a whole new dimension to our everyday living. It emphasizes the importance of a “secure attachment” in life. The root of this stems from the instillation of the 5 Universal Psychological Needs in the first years of an infant’s life (and the embracing of this throughout adulthood). Evidently, the quality of care-giving is most crucial.

The book has apt summaries and illustrations to corroborate this point. These include the "Everyday Practices of Mental Health"; "Parental Guidance"; and "Teachers/School guidance", Emotional Literacy – a way of communicating and making decisions critically underpinned by sincerity, wisdom, integrity, courage and humility.

The book holds an interesting appeal to students, parents, teachers and all who cherish taking care of ourselves and others – taking charge of our mental health.
