Corel Painter X offers a broad range of digital painting, sketching and illustration tools that inspire creativity, increase performance, and further extend file compatibility with other industry-standard tools and applications, such as Adobe® Photoshop®.
Increased Performance
Painter X is optimized to provide artists with the fastest version of Painter ever. Depending on system hardware, brushes perform up to 35% faster, while opening and saving files is up to 200% faster!
New! RealBristle™ Painting System
This new painting system heightens the responsiveness of the brushes and represents a major milestone for digital painting. You can now faithfully replicate the sensation and interaction between the paint, canvas and brush.

New! Composition Tools
Divine Proportion and the Rule of Thirds help you visually arrange a blank canvas prior to sketching or painting. This is ideal for helping you create stunning compositions, whether you're painting from a blank canvas or cropping a photograph before transforming it into a painting.
Widely used throughout history by artists, designers and architects, divine proportion is a ratio of approximately 3 to 5, which is generally recognized as aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Corel Painter X provides palette controls for the Divine Proportion composition tool, which let you adjust the orientation, size, angle of rotation, display colors, opacity and grid levels.

New! Workspace Manager
Easily customize and back up your workspaces, as well as export and share them with friends and colleagues.

Enhanced! Photo-Painting System
It's now easier than ever to create stunning paintings from photographs. Major improvements offer greater control when underpainting, and new SmartStroke™ technology uses brush strokes that dynamically adhere to the lines and contours in the original painting.
Enhanced! Underpainting
This palette includes color schemes based on various artistic styles, such as Impressionist, Classical, Modern, Watercolor, Sketchbook and Chalk Drawing. You can also match your Underpainting palette to that of any open image.
Enhanced! Auto-Painting Palette
Automatically apply random paint strokes that vary in stroke type, direction and pressure. Choose the type of brush stroke and adjust the preset options to determine how the brush interacts with the canvas.

New! SmartStroke™ Painting
Create brush strokes that follow the lines and contours in your original photo. By enabling Smart Strokes, you can dynamically change brush size, stroke length and pressure, based on the detail and focal areas of your original photo.
New! Universal Mixer Palette
For multicolor selection, this palette gives you better control over color blending between the Mixer palette and the canvas.

Enhanced! Dodge and Burn Tools
These new image enhancement tools make it easier than ever to prepare your photos for paintings. The Dodge tool lets you lighten, or overexpose, specific areas of an image. Conversely, the Burn tool lets you darken, or underexpose, specific areas of an image.

Enhanced! Adobe® Photoshop® Support
Maintain layers when transferring files between Corel Painter X and Adobe Photoshop. Improved layer grouping and combining, and enhanced support for layer merge modes, help you work more efficiently.
Enhanced! Wacom® Support
Use the entire Wacom product line with Corel Painter X, including the Cintiq® 21 UX interactive pen display, the Intuos®3 pen tablet and the Wacom® 6D Art Pen.
New! Match Palette Effect
