Chong Pek Lin, B.Sc.Hons, Dip.Ed (University of Malaya), M.A (University of Malaysia Sarawak), LTCL (Trinity College of Music) is attached to the Music Unit of the Institute of Teacher Education Batu Lintang Campus Kuching. She has written two other books: Songs From the Kenyah Community (1998) and Songs from the Baram (2006) in a project with Sarawak Development Institute funded by the United States Department of State.

In July 2006, she received the ISME-Gibson award for outstanding music educators at the ISME 27th World Conference, along with a grant to implement a music education project of her choice. The publication of this book marks the completion of the third stage of that project: Introducing Traditional Musical Ensembles and Folk Songs of East Malaysia to Schoolchildren.

Anne Anthony Lajinga, B.A. (Hons) Linguistics (University of Manchester), Malaysian Teaching Certificate: English Studies- (Gaya Teacher Training College), Postgraduate Diploma (TESL) Management (University Malaysia Sabah). She is currently attached to the Language Departmnet at the Institute of Teacher Education, Batu Lintang Campus.

While attached to Gaya Teacher Training college from 2000-2002, she teamed up with colleagues Gertrude Jock and Rose Patsy Tibok for a project funded by the Huminodun Foundation to produce a souvenir book: Huminodun 2001 featuring former Harvest Festival Queens within a compilations of articles pertaining to the Kadazandusun Culture.
